The Pennant season runs from early October until March when the finals are held. The Pennant competition is run by Bowls Victoria and clubs need to adhere to strict guidelines when participating in this competition. This season the Ivanhoe Bowling Club has entered five sides in the Saturday competition, and three sides in the mid week competition. The Club will also be participating is the Tuesday Night Pennant Competition commencing in October.
The Club has five sixteen-a-side sides in the Saturday Pennant competition. The Saturday Pennant competition is an open event and bowlers of a range of ability can participate in this competition. We have a side in each of Divisions 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7. Pennant games are played on Saturday afternoon starting at 1pm from September to February. Both men and women play in these sides.
Mid Week Pennant
The Club has three sides in the Open Section of the mid week competition with two sides in Division 1 and the other in Division 5. Each team consists of 12 players and the competition is held on Tuesdays commencing late in September each year, with the final scheduled in February.
Tuesday Night Pennant
The Club has one side entered in the Tuesday night Pennant Competition as part of the North Eastern Division.
Ivanhoe has been a regular competitor in the finals over a number of years. It is a two bowl triples event usually commencing in October each year. If you are interested in playing competitive bowls on Tuesday evenings, contact Barry McMillin on 0411583 528.
Indoor Bias Pennant
We play on Monday night as part of the North Division Indoor Bias pennant competition.
Ivanhoe has four teams in the 2015 season starting in May. The club has two current Australian and Victorian representatives - Meredith Norton and Anne Draffen.
